Copenhagen’s Sand Sculpture Festival 2012

For just a few weeks a year, artists from around the world gather to create unique works of art, just out of sand. This year the theme was “A World in sand – from volcanos to space ships”

Let me quote part of the flyer here:

    • 21 fantastic sand sculptures of up to 10 meters’ height built from 3000 tons of sand
    • Sculptured by 30 International sand artists

If you have the chance, you should really try and head out to Ofelia Beach, and check it out. For those who are interested but cannot see it for themselves, here you go:

I have no idea how the colours turned out the way they did, but I must say the contrast between the sand and the clouds is truely spectacular.

Hope you enjoyed it if you went, will enjoy it if you go, and enjoyed my pictures if you couldn’t make it. Next up… Tivoli Gardens.

I’ll check in soon from beautiful Copenhagen…
